Step One
To prepare a simple mushroom Mac and cheese, start by cooking the pasta according to the instructions on the package until it’s al dente. Once done, drain it, rinse with cold water, and set aside for later use.
Step Two
In a large saucepan, melt 15g of butter over medium heat. I prefer to use the same pot I used for the pasta.

Add the mushrooms and sauté them for about 5 minutes until they’re cooked through. It may seem like a lot at first, but they will reduce in size quickly.

Mix in the garlic.

Take the mixture out of the pan and set it aside. Don’t stress if there’s some mushroom juice and butter left in the pan; it will add flavor!
